The Quantum Security and Privacy (QSec) Workshop aims to establish a focused venue—co-located with ACM CCS 2025—dedicated to examining both the novel threats introduced by quantum technologies and the security of the quantum systems themselves. By bringing together experts from traditional security domains (e.g., post-quantum cryptography, network security) and quantum computing research (e.g., quantum key distribution, quantum architectures), QSec provides a forum for:

  • Expose Emerging Quantum-Era Threats
Analyze how adversaries with quantum or quantum-enhanced capabilities can undermine both classical and quantum systems.
  • Showcase Innovative Defenses
Present hybrid cryptographic schemes, quantum-native protocols (e.g., QKD), and hardware-level protections.
  • Bridge Disparate Communities
Foster collaboration among researchers in cryptography, networking, architecture, and quantum information science.
  • Chart a Roadmap for Future Research
Through keynotes, technical sessions, and blue-sky discussions, identify long-term challenges and research directions.

Workshop Goals

  1. Advance Understanding of Quantum Threats
Illuminate the risks posed by quantum algorithms (e.g., Shor’s, Grover’s) and quantum-enabled sensing on existing security models.

  2. Stimulate Novel Countermeasures
Promote the design and evaluation of both post-quantum cryptographic defenses and quantum-native security mechanisms.

  3. Foster Rigorous Evaluation
Encourage formal analyses, benchmarking studies, and experimental demonstrations under realistic adversarial models.

  4. Build a Sustainable Community
Establish steering, publicity, and PhD student committees to mentor junior researchers and ensure the workshop’s long-term continuity.
